The MCP1700 is a CMOS low dropout positive voltage regulator which can source up to 250mA of current and a fixed Voltage output of 3,3V.
As LDO the key feature is that it works with an extremely low input-output voltage and low current consumption (around 1.6µA), this is ideal for battery operation circuits, such as DIY Home Automation Sensors.
In our tests with ESP8266 (or ESP32) device, that work with 3,3 V supply often in combination with a lithium battery, the MCP1700 is stable and works best with 100nF ceramic capacitor and a 100µF electrolytic capacitor in parallel.

Wiring

Do you put the capacitors on the input or output?
Hi Patrik,
Please check wiring schema above, I’ve uploaded it few minutes ago.
